Annual Meeting Recap

Opening Night: Connection and Collaboration

The 2025 AEIRS Annual Meeting brought together nearly 200 educators, researchers, and leaders in imaging and radiologic sciences for 3 days of connection, innovation, and inspiration in Dallas, Texas. The conference opened with a warm welcome from President Dr. Kori Stewart during Wednesday's reception, where members reconnected over appetizers and cocktails. The first CE session, The JRCERT Standards Revision Process: You Speak, We Listen with Leslie Winter, offered insight into evolving accreditation standards. The evening concluded with an Elsevier-sponsored Sherpath showcase, giving educators a hands-on look at new teaching technology.

Thursday: Insight, Leadership, and Innovation

Thursday began with Dr. Rhonda Weaver's dynamic session on transitioning from clinic to classroom, followed by Joy Renner's engaging talk on growth mindset and motivation. A multi-organization panel brough updates from the ARRT, ASRT, JRCERT, JRCDMS, JRCNMT, NMTCB, and SDMS, strengthening collaboration across professional bodies.

During the Business Luncheon, Dr. Stewart delivered the Presidential Report, announced the new Leadership Development Committee, and previewed the upcoming AEIRS website. Members celebrated honorees, approved bylaws revisions, and installed new officers, including Dr. Kevin Clark as President. Dr. Clark shared an inspiring vision for expanding international membership.

The afternoon featured impactful sessions from Dr. William Undie and Aziz Benamar on workforce stability, and Dr. Kenya Haugen's Honors Lecture exploring how emotional intelligence and artificial intelligence tools like Gradescope and Grammarly can enhance learning. The day closed with a hands-on VitaSim demonstration showcasing immersive simulation technology.

Friday's sessions offered practical takeaways for educators. Ann Miller with the ARRT shared item-writing best practices, Dr. Cherish Parham presented on inclusive breast health care, and Dr. Kevin Clark challenged attendees to rethink assessment for meaningful improvement.

Dr. Julie Gill and Katie Gill addressed supporting neurodiverse learners, Dr. Bernadette Mele explored cross-disciplinary teaching in physics, and Dr. Angela Thomas closed the meeting with an interactive session on recognizing and addressing bias in healthcare.

AEIRS extends sincere thanks to the Dallas College student volunteers and Dr. Kelli Welch Haynes for their invaluable support throughout the event.
